Here's my baby girl playing in the front yard. She is an expert at baby push-ups and rolling over. Well, an expert at rolling over from back to front, but she has forgotten how to go back to her back. So she'll often get stuck on her front then scream until I come and rescue her. She smiles all the time now and at everyone, which I love! She likes to talk (well baby jabber), squeal, and make pterodactyl noises. She still is not a regular giggler, but there are certain things that make her giggle like peek-a-boo and tickling her feet. She has been going to play practice with us and has been a perfect angel! She's the most popular person in the play. In a rehearsal this past week, the cast was singing a particularly loud and energetic song, but there was Alia, fast asleep in her car seat. She's such a good girl!

Nick took me to go see Sara Watkins at the Red Butte Gardens for our anniversary. 4 Years! Woot! It was so much fun and all a total surprise. He's so thoughtful like that. The concert got delayed because it started raining with a lot of wind and we were afraid they were going to cancel the concert while we were waiting outside in the rain for about 2 hours. But then the weather cleared up. And besides being a little chilly, the night was perfect!
I thought this guy was Sean Watkin, Sara's brother and also a member of Nickel Creek, I was freaking out that we were going to get to see both of them, but it turns out this was just a photographer. Dangit!
Here's my creepy stalker picture of Sara Watkins. She was amazing! And the guy with the white hair behind her? That's the sound effects guy from Between the Lions. If you've ever seen that show you'll know exactly who I'm talking about.
And lastly, I've decided to start making cakes with fondant. So here is my first attempt. Katee helped me and we've decided that we will collaborate on her birthday cake as well. If anyone has any requests, let me know because I need reasons to make cakes so that I can get really good by Alia's birthday so that she can have the BEST birthday cake ever!
I took this cake to youth conference and called it Celestial Cake. The Young Men and Women were very impressed. What can I say? I'm amazing I guess:)

I have an excellent reason for you to make cake, and the reason is, I like cake.
So bake away, I will eat as much as you need me to.
Way to go with the fondant. That looks great! I was just thinking about trying to make fondant the other day, you beat me to it :)
Love the pictures of Alia, so beautiful, I love her in orange, so cute!
Horray for a fun Anniversary surprise! Glad you guys had fun!
Jaren did the same thing (forgot how to roll back off his tummy) but I think perhaps is just starting to remember now. Pretty cake, I'm very impressed. :)
