The Patriotic Post

Life has been happening! I should use that as a title for a book, but not until after I have written by breakout-self-help book, "How not to be stupid." It's in the works. Anyway, here are some pictures of recent activities.
Here we are at the Clinton Heritage Days Parade. This parade was so long. Since Clinton is a pretty small town, we expected fire trucks...and that's it. But no we had the fire trucks, every jr. high and high school in the area, every dance company in the area, a few politicians, a bunch of businesses, and a lot of people we didn't know but we cheered for them anyway. Nick and his family have taught me the art of parade going: Cheer really loud for everyone. This makes for quite an enjoyable time. We had gotten to this parade a little late to get a good spot so we stood behind some people from our ward. When all the cheering started - and we really were the only cheerers - a guy from our ward asked us, "are they paying you guys?" We thought that was pretty funny. We would shout for every float by name, and if we didn't know who they were, we would ask them. "Hey, what school are you?" "Sand Ridge Jr. High." "WHOOO SAND RIDGE JR. HIGH!!!!" Nick's favorite part of the whole parade was when we saw the bishop's daughter who happens to be one of my Laurels. She also happens to be extremely shy and quiet. We screamed and cheered for her as her float went by and just kept screaming her name. She looked sooo embarrassed and that seemed to make Nick really happy:)
This was on the 3rd of July at the Huntsville parade. Aren't these two just the cutest. I'm so lucky!
Alia often falls asleep in Nick's arms when he holds her like this. She's just on the verge. Don't you love how her cheeks just rest on her chest?! Only a baby can pull that off and still be the cutest thing ALIVE!
Alia had three different outfits for the 4th of July weekend. This was her Sunday dress. Two pictures above was her Saturday outfit.
And here was Alia's Friday night attire. What? Can I help it that I have a gorgeous daughter who looks cute in everything?

I love how Alia's eyeing the sparkler's. She's is awe, and maybe a bit nervouse that dad isn't looking at them :)
